John A. Mullen is a fourth-generation tradesman, sustainability advocate, and proud Town of Waxhaw & Union County HPC commissioner with deep roots in public service and technical leadership. From his early years as a journeyman plumber to his current role as Director of Technical Services & Research at IAPMO, John has spent over two decades championing smarter infrastructure, skilled trades education, and community-driven innovation.

Now calling Waxhaw home, John brings his unique blend of hands-on experience and national policy influence to the local stage. As a Historic Preservation Commissioner for the Town of Waxhaw, he has helped shape thoughtful growth policies that balance heritage with progress.
